Arlen’s own photography career began with him working in a commercial photo lab, where he managed all aspects of processing – from developing to printing and other photographic services. Working with film shot by professional photographers, Arlen learned what it took to create great photographs…from the finishing side of the photographic process.

Several years later Arlen was introduced to the other side of photography, getting the chance to actually shoot the pictures – and he’s been there ever since! As apprentice to several well-known Dallas/Fort Worth wedding and portrait photographers, Arlen honed his skills in child, family, individual, Senior and wedding portraits, photographing a wide assortment of people and events. He quickly achieved the status of “professional photographer”.
Since 1999 Arlen has been an independent studio photographer. His experiences on both sides of the camera have helped him provide exceptional, quality photographs to people throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and beyond. In the past few years his company, DFW Portraits, has transitioned to Digital Photography, providing his clients with even more options .
